About Me

Martin

I have more than 20 years of counselling experience in corporate and hospital setting, and am currently in private practice.

I am a Singapore-Registered Counsellor (SAC) am also a Graduate member (MBPsS) of British Psychological Society.

I help clients to build up their own resources so as to develop increased confidence and resilience in managing the inevitable dilemmas of living.

The way I work is unique to you. I am trained in many modalities and so will style my approach based on your individual needs, preferences and personality.

I am culturally aware and have experience of working in some of the most ethnically diverse population. I respect and celebrate diversity.

Individual FAQ

Individual Counselling

Individual Therapy can be incredibly powerful when you are ready to learn more about yourself and take steps toward significant changes in your life.

Psychotherapy can help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself so you can clearly identify your needs, experience relief from unwanted symptoms, and ultimately feel more balanced and whole.

Individual therapy can help with issues such as:

  • Feelings of Emptiness, Loneliness and Depression
  • Anxiety and Stress
  • Low self esteem and strong inner-critic
  • A desire for better Relationship and Interpersonal Skills
  • Career and transition
  • Addiction Support
  • Grief and Loss
  • A search for more meaning and purpose
  • Sex and Intimacy

Together we will explore what is troubling you, what may be getting in the way and ultimately what you really want. Sometimes, psychotherapy can be very deep and emotionally cleansing, and at other times it is practical, supportive and educational.

Couple FAQ

Couple Counselling

Couple relationship is unique and it demands special expertise. It involves working with relationship partners to limit and soften negative patterns of response that become entrenched over time and, to build more positive responses that strengthen the emotional binds.

These sessions aim to equip couples with the tools to communicate better, negotiate differences, understand your partner and yourself better.

Begin couples therapy sooner rather than later because many couples procrastinate to go for counselling and by the time they decide to do so, their problems are too severe. Some relationships are 'dead at arrival' at the first session.

Relationship counselling can be helpful, but it can initially make things worse because we are perturbing with a relationship system in order to help re-build it more safely and successfully.
